Guster is nominated for an MTVu Woodie Award for their work with Reverb, which in many ways gave Concert Corps its start.  Vote for them (above).

In other Guster news, Ryan Miller is supporting Dramatic Need through the very first Our Threads charity closet auction.  It ends today, so bid now!

Help a great cause and visit www.ourthreads.com where ryan miller is auctioning off a bunch of old t-shirts (including his trippin balls t-shirt!) as a part of his very own celebrity closet. all proceeds benefit www.dramaticneed.org — hurry up, though! the auction ends this thursday the 18th.

State Radio is donating Snocap sales to Oxfam’s Sudan Crisis Relief & Rehabilitation Fund and Save Darfur Coalition through Monday.

State Radio is being featured on MySpace in the Snocap Featured Download section. Starting now through 10/22, if you buy Year of the Crow or any of its tracks through Snocap, the proceeds will be donated to Rock for Darfur, which supports Oxfam’s Sudan Crisis Relief & Rehabilitation Fund & Save Darfur Coalition.

They’re also playing a Rock for Darfur show next month in Chicago…

Speaking of Rock for Darfur, State Radio has officially named the 11/10 Chicago HOB show a Rock for Darfur show! We will be donating $1 per ticket sold to Rock for Darfur….so help us raise money for the cause and get your tickets to the Chicago show RIGHT HERE.

Last, but certainly not least… Concert Corps and Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers kicks off their Service with The Sixers program this weekend with children’s book driver tonight and tomorrow at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston and Saturday at Higher Ground in Burlington.

Before heading to The Sixers’ shows in Boston and Burlington, dust off your favorite children’s book from the shelves or have it shipped from home… and bring it along to donate to a young person being tutored this year by an AmeriCorps member in your local community.

Every fan that brings a book will be entered to win a copy of SK6ERS’ latest release – Glassjaw Boxer – personally autographed by the entire band!

Also, SK6ERS will join with their fans to help build a house on Saturday before their show in Burlington.  Special thanks to Thrivent Builds and the Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity for partnering with Concert Corps to make this opportunity possible.  All volunteer slots for this project are now full.  Thank you for your support!

Watch for pictures at the end of the weekend…
